अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
यः प्राणवन्तमात्मानं ज्योतिर्जीवस्थितं मन: । त॑ देवं दर्शनाकाड्क्षी बहून् वर्षमणानूषि:
yaḥ prāṇavantaṃ ātmānaṃ jyotir-jīva-sthitaṃ manaḥ | taṃ devaṃ darśanākāṅkṣī bahūn varṣam anūṣiḥ ||
ព្រះវាយុបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «អ្នកណាដែលស្គាល់នៅក្នុងខ្លួនឯងនូវអាត្មា ដែលមានព្រលឹងដង្ហើមរស់ (ប្រាណ) —ចិត្តដែលតាំងនៅក្នុងពន្លឺរស់—នោះនឹងប្រាថ្នាចង់ឃើញសច្ចធាតុទេវៈនោះ; ហើយគាត់រស់នៅអស់ឆ្នាំជាច្រើន ដោយត្រូវបានគាំទ្រដោយប្រាថ្នានោះ»។
