Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
वैशम्पायन उवाच एवमुक्त्वा तु भगवान् गुणांस्तस्य महात्मन: । उपस्पृश्य शुचिर्भूत्वा कथयामास धीमत:
vaiśampāyana uvāca evam uktvā tu bhagavān guṇāṁs tasya mahātmanaḥ | upaspṛśya śucir bhūtvā kathayāmāsa dhīmataḥ ||
វៃសម្បាយនៈបាននិយាយថា៖ ព្រះអម្ចាស់បានមានព្រះបន្ទូលដូច្នោះហើយ ក៏ចាប់ផ្តើមពណ៌នាគុណធម៌នៃមហាត្មៈនោះ។ បន្ទាប់ពីធ្វើអាចមនៈ (ācamana) ហើយក្លាយជាបរិសុទ្ធតាមពិធី ព្រះអង្គបានចាប់ផ្តើមរៀបរាប់ដោយប្រាជ្ញា និងការយល់ឃើញច្បាស់លាស់ អំពីសេចក្តីល្អឥតខ្ចោះនៃព្រះសិវៈ (Śiva) ព្រះអម្ចាស់ដ៏អធិឧត្តម ដោយបង្កើតបរិយាកាសគោរព និងវិន័យសម្រាប់ស្តូត្រដែលនឹងបន្តទៅ។
