Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
पूर्ण वर्षमहस्रं तु तप्तवानेष माधव: । प्रसाद्य वरदं देवं चराचरगुरुं शिवम्,इन माधवने वरदायक देवता चराचरगुरु भगवान् शिवको प्रसन्न करते हुए पूर्वकालमें पूरे एक हजार वर्षतक तपस्या की थी
pūrṇa-varṣa-sahasraṃ tu taptavān eṣa mādhavaḥ | prasādya varadaṃ devaṃ carācaraguruṃ śivam ||
ភីស្មៈបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ មាធវៈនេះ កាលពីបុរាណ បានធ្វើតបស្យាអស់ពេញមួយពាន់ឆ្នាំ។ ដោយតបស្យាដ៏យូរអង្វែងនោះ ព្រះអង្គបានធ្វើឲ្យព្រះសិវៈ—ព្រះអម្ចាស់ប្រទានពរ ជាគ្រូនៃសត្វចល និងអចល—ពេញព្រះហឫទ័យ។
