A simple childhood request becomes a narrative device: it foregrounds natural desire and dependence, which later dharma-teachings often refine into restraint, discernment, and responsible conduct.
Vasudeva recounts a moment from childhood when he asked his mother to give him milk-rice to eat, emphasizing the innocence and immediacy of a child’s appetite.
