एष श्राद्धविधि: प्रोक्तो यथा धर्मो न लुप्यते । पितरस्तस्य तुष्यन्ति प्रहष्टटनस: सदा
eṣa śrāddhavidhiḥ prokto yathā dharmo na lupyate | pitaras tasya tuṣyanti praharṣaṭanasāḥ sadā ||
ភីṣ្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «នេះហើយជាវិធីស្រាទ្ធ ដែលបានប្រកាស ដើម្បីឲ្យធម្មៈ (dharma) មិនត្រូវបាត់បង់ ឬថយចុះ។ ពិត្រៈ (Pitṛs) —វិញ្ញាណបុព្វបុរស— តែងតែពេញចិត្តចំពោះអ្នកដែលអនុវត្តវា ដោយចិត្តរីករាយជានិច្ច។»
