भीष्म उवाच अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम् । मैत्रेयस्य च संवाद कृष्णद्वैयायनस्थ च
bhīṣma uvāca | atrāpy udāharantīmam itihāsaṁ purātanam | maitreyaśya ca saṁvādaṁ kṛṣṇadvaipāyanasya ca ||
ភីष្ម បានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ឱ ព្រះរាជា! ក្នុងរឿងនេះផងដែរ គេយកគំរូពីប្រវត្តិនិទានបុរាណមួយ—ជាសន្ទនារវាង ម៉ៃត្រេយ និង ក្រឹෂ್ಣទ្វៃបាយន (វ្យាស)»។
