Adhyāya 122 — Śruta-vṛtta-yukta Brāhmaṇa and the Ethics of Dāna
Maitreya–Vyāsa Saṃvāda
जानामि पापै: स्वकृतैर्गतं त्वां कीट कीटताम् । अवाप्स्यसि पुनर्धर्म धर्म तु यदि मन्यसे
jānāmi pāpaiḥ svakṛtair gataṃ tvāṃ kīṭa kīṭatām | avāpsyasi punar dharma dharma tu yadi manyase ||
វ្យាសៈ «ខ្ញុំដឹងថា ដោយអំពើបាបដែលអ្នកបានប្រព្រឹត្តដោយខ្លួនឯង អ្នកបានធ្លាក់ចុះទៅស្ថានភាពជាដង្កូវ។ ទោះជាយ៉ាងណា អ្នកនឹងបានស្ដារឡើងវិញនូវធម៌—ប្រសិនបើអ្នកនៅតែទទួលស្គាល់ធម៌ និងយល់ថាវាជាអំណាចដឹកនាំ»។
