वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights human limitation and the ethical posture of humility: when one’s inner vigor (tejas) and strength (bala) fail, one should acknowledge incapacity and seek higher support rather than act from pride or desperation.
Vaiśampāyana reports a speaker’s confession of being unable to dispel an intense affliction, describing a state of diminished radiance and strength, and addressing a higher authority as “Lord of the world,” indicating a plea for aid or protection.
