自らのスヴァダルマに心を堅く据えるヴァイシャには、マールタの界がその住処と宣せられる。奉仕と随従に生きるシュードラには、ガンダルヴァの界が定めの住まいとして与えられる。
Sage Parāśara (in instruction to Maitreya)
The verse presents sva-dharma as the stabilizing principle of cosmic order: steadfast performance of one’s rightful duties becomes the basis for one’s posthumous station (gati) within the structured universe.
Parāśara maps ethical conduct to cosmological परिणाम (results): disciplined Vaiśya life aligned with duty leads to Māruta’s sphere, while Śūdra life characterized by faithful service leads to the Gandharva realm.
Even when Vishnu is not named in the verse, the framework assumes Vishnu as the supreme governor of ṛta/dharma—the ordered cosmos in which duties yield corresponding realms and destinies.
