अथातो वीरशक्तिश्चतुर्भुजाऽभयवरदपद्मधरा किरीटाभरणयुता सर्वदेवैः परिवृता कल्पतरुमूले चतुर्भिर्गजै रत्नघटैरमृतजलैरभिषिच्यमाना सर्वदैवतैर्ब्रह्मादिभिर्वन्द्यमाना अणिमाद्यष्टैश्वर्ययुता संमुखे कामधेनुना स्तूयमाना वेदशास्त्रादिभिः स्तूयमाना जयाद्यप्सरस्स्त्रीभिः परिचर्यमाणा आदित्यसोमाभ्यां दीपाभ्यां प्रकाश्यमाना तुम्बुरुनारदादिभिर्गायमाना राकासिनीवालीभ्यां छत्रेण ह्लादिनीमायाभ्यां चामरेण स्वाहास्वधाभ्यां व्यजनेन भृगुपुणादिभिरभ्यर्च्यमाना देवी दिव्यसिंहासने पद्मासनरूढा सकलकारणकार्यकरी लक्ष्मीर्देवस्य पृथग्भवनकल्पना अलञ्चकार स्थिरा प्रसन्नलोचना सर्वदेवतैः पूज्यमाना वीरलक्ष्मीरिति विज्ञायत इत्युपनिषत्॥३७॥

अथ । अतः । वीरशक्तिः । चतुर्भुजा । अभय-वरद-पद्मधरा । किरीट-आभरण-युता । सर्व-देवैः । परिवृता । कल्प-तरु-मूले । चतुर्भिः । गजैः । रत्न-घटैः । अमृत-जलैः । अभिषिच्यमाना । सर्व-दैवतैः । ब्रह्म-आदिभिः । वन्द्यमाना । अणिमा-आदि-अष्ट-ऐश्वर्य-युता । संमुखे । कामधेनुना । स्तूयमाना । वेद-शास्त्र-आदिभिः । स्तूयमाना । जया-आदि-अप्सरसः-स्त्रीभिः । परिचर्यमाणा । आदित्य-सोमाभ्याम् । दीपाभ्याम् । प्रकाश्यमाना । तुम्बुरु-नारद-आदिभिः । गायमाना । राका-सिनीवालीभ्याम् । छत्रेण । ह्लादिनी-मायाभ्याम् । चामरेण । स्वाहा-स्वधाभ्याम् । व्यजनेन । भृगु-पुण्य-आदिभिः । अभ्यर्च्यमाना । देवी । दिव्य-सिंहासने । पद्म-आसन-रूढा । सकल-कारण-कार्य-करी । लक्ष्मीः । देवस्य । पृथक्-भवन-कल्पना । अलञ्चकार । स्थिरा । प्रसन्न-लोचना । सर्व-देवतैः । पूज्यमाना । वीर-लक्ष्मीः । इति । विज्ञायत । इति । उपनिषत् ॥३७॥

athāto vīraśaktiś caturbhujā’bhayavaradapadmadharā kirīṭābharaṇayutā sarvadevaiḥ parivṛtā kalpatarumūle caturbhir gajai ratnaghaṭair amṛtajalair abhiṣicyamānā sarvadaivatair brahmādibhir vandyamānā aṇimādy-aṣṭaiśvaryayutā saṃmukhe kāmadhenuṇā stūyamānā vedaśāstrādibhiḥ stūyamānā jayādy-apsarass-strībhiḥ paricaryamāṇā ādityasomābhyāṃ dīpābhyāṃ prakāśyamānā tumburunāradādibhir gāyamānā rākāsinīvālībhyāṃ chatreṇa hlādinīmāyābhyāṃ cāmareṇa svāhāsvadhābhyāṃ vyajanena bhṛgupuṇyādibhir abhyarcyamānā devī divyasiṃhāsane padmāsanarūḍhā sakalakāraṇakāryakarī lakṣmīr devasya pṛthagbhavanakalpanā alaṃcakāra sthirā prasannalocanā sarvadevataiḥ pūjyamānā vīralakṣmīr iti vijñāyata ity upaniṣat ||37||

さて、英雄の力(ヴィーラシャクティ)が顕れる。四臂にして、無畏と施与の印を示し、蓮華を執り、冠と宝飾をまとい、あらゆる神々に囲まれている。願いを成就する樹の根元に立ち、四頭の象が宝瓶に満たした甘露の水をもって灌頂し、梵天をはじめとする一切の神々に讃えられる。アニマーに始まる八つの自在力を具え、前には願いを授ける牝牛カーマデーヌが称嘆し、ヴェーダやシャーストラ等の聖典が讃歌を捧げる。ジャヤーなどの天女に奉仕され、太陽と月という灯明に照らされ、トゥンブルやナーラダらが歌い、ラーカーとシニーヴァーリーの天蓋に覆われ、フラーディニーとマーヤーのヤク尾の扇、またスヴァーハーとスヴァダーの扇により涼風を受け、ブリグやプンニャらに礼拝される。かの女神は、天上の宝座に坐し、蓮華座に安住し、あらゆる因と果を成就する者、ラクシュミー—神が分別の生成を思い描くその想念—として、この荘厳を飾る。揺るがず、澄みわたる安らかな眼をもち、諸神に礼拝される彼女は「ヴィーララクシュミー」と知られる。これぞウパニシャッドである。

Now then, the heroic Power (Vīraśakti)—four-armed, bearing (the gestures of) fearlessness and boon-giving and holding a lotus, adorned with crown and ornaments, surrounded by all the gods—standing at the root of the wish-fulfilling tree, being anointed by four elephants with jewel-pots filled with nectar-water; being praised by all deities beginning with Brahmā; endowed with the eight sovereign powers beginning with aṇimā; being lauded in front by the wish-granting cow; being praised by the Vedas, śāstras, and the like; being attended by celestial nymphs such as Jayā; being illumined by the lamps of the Sun and the Moon; being sung by Tumburu, Nārada, and others; shaded by the parasol of Rākā and Sinīvālī; fanned by the yak-tail fans of Hlādinī and Māyā; fanned by the fans of Svāhā and Svadhā; being worshipped by Bhṛgu, Puṇya, and others—this Goddess, seated on a divine throne, mounted on a lotus-seat, the accomplisher of all causes and effects, Lakṣmī, the deity’s imagination of separate becoming, adorned (the scene). Steady, with serene eyes, worshipped by all the gods, she is understood as Vīralakṣmī—thus (ends) the Upaniṣad.
