śuka uvāca | yo'yaṃ vaṃśo mahānagre pradagdho vahnisaṃgataḥ | praṇaṣṭo havyavāhotra mayā dṛṣṭo mahādyutiḥ
Śuka
Listener: Devas
Scene: Śuka points to a charred bamboo stem; within/near it a radiant Agni is glimpsed, then vanishes—leaving only the burnt sign.
Even divine powers may become ‘hidden’ due to curse or circumstance, yet truth is revealed through reliable testimony and attentive listening.
The Arbuda region is being set up as the sacred stage where Agni’s presence becomes traceable through signs in nature.
None stated; the verse provides a narrative clue about Agni’s whereabouts.
