sā tu varṣaśataṃ taptvā tapaḥ paramaduścaram | bhartāraṃ dīptatapasaṃ puruṣaṃ pratyapadyata
彼女は百年のあいだ、きわめて成し難い苦行(タパス)を修め、苦行の威光に輝くプルシャなる主に帰依して、夫としてその御方に到達した。

Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It presents tapas joined with prapatti (taking refuge) as the means by which the soul (pashu) becomes fit for the grace of Pati (Shiva), showing that steadfast discipline ripens into divine union.
The verse emphasizes approaching the Lord as the personal, accessible Puruṣa—Saguna Shiva—whom devotees worship through forms such as the Shiva Linga, where devotion, vows, and austerity culminate in Shiva’s acceptance.
A sustained vrata with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), simple tapas (fasting, restraint, vigil), and daily Shiva-puja—optionally with bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and rudraksha—reflects the spirit of this verse.
