idaṃ khalu jagaccakraṃ śrutiviśrutavaibhavam | pañcāraṃ cakramiti ha stauti śrutiridammune

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Positions the cosmic order as śruti-prasiddha (Veda-attested), supporting orthodox legitimacy for Śaiva cosmology and the pañcāra (five-spoked) model used for contemplation.
Role: teaching
It frames the universe as a divinely ordered “wheel” known through Śruti, implying that liberation comes from understanding the cosmic process and transcending bondage (pāśa) by turning toward the Lord (Pati) rather than being driven by the cycle.
By pointing to a Veda-praised cosmic order, the verse supports Saguna worship as a means to contemplate Shiva as the governor of creation and dissolution; the Liṅga becomes a focused symbol through which the devotee recognizes the Lord behind the universe’s revolving wheel.
A practical takeaway is to meditate on Shiva as the inner ruler of the cosmic cycle while repeating the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), using it to steady the mind beyond worldly rotations of pleasure and pain.
