परिस्तीर्य्य स्वयं तत्र परिषिच्योदकेन च । हस्ताभ्यामवलंब्याथ पात्रं प्रत्येकमादरात्
paristīryya svayaṃ tatra pariṣicyodakena ca | hastābhyāmavalaṃbyātha pātraṃ pratyekamādarāt
その場で、彼は自ら儀礼の設えを敷き広げ、ついで清水を灑い清める。さらに両手をもって、器を一つ一つ順に、慎み深く敬意を込めて持ち上げ支えるべきである。

It teaches that outer sanctification—arranging the worship space, sprinkling water, and handling items with reverence—cultivates inner purity and disciplined bhakti, making the mind fit to approach Lord Shiva (Pati) with steadiness.
Sprinkling water and respectfully handling each ritual vessel are standard preparatory acts in saguna upasana, supporting orderly Linga-puja where every offering is made with śraddhā and ritual cleanliness.
Perform prokṣaṇa (sprinkling with water) to consecrate the setup, then handle each pātra attentively; inwardly maintain one-pointed remembrance of Shiva—ideally with the Panchakshara mantra while preparing the offerings.
