この短いトリシュトゥブ(Triṣṭubh)讃歌は、アトリ(Ātreya)—本文で明示される「アトリのごとく」(atrivat)—の先例に倣い、ミトラとヴァルナを招いて「バルヒス(barhis、供犠の敷草)に坐し」、祭儀においてソーマを享受するよう請い願う。誓戒(vrata、拘束する規定)とダルマ(dharma、正法・秩序)による揺るぎない統治を讃え、平安を確立し、攪乱の力を抑え、祭主の選び求める善(iṣṭi)にかなうよう、ヤジュニャ(yajña、供犠)を喜び受け取って加護することを祈る。
