Then the Rakshasas of terrific looks, and frightening faces holding on shoulders roaring departed with swords, spears, tridents, maces, iron bars, halas, sharp pointed javelins, huge Kutamudgaras, staffs and several discusses, sharp Bhindipalas, Sataghnis and many kinds of excellent weapons.
The verse underscores the scale of violence that adharma can mobilize; Dharma emphasizes that power and armament must be governed by just intent and truth, not terror.
After the commanders rally the city, armed Rākṣasas quickly sally forth, roaring and equipped with a wide array of weapons.
Martial readiness and collective coordination are depicted; the epic’s ethical lens reminds that such capacities become virtues only when aligned with Dharma.
