The Slaying of Indrajit

馬を討たれ、御者も倒されると、光り輝くインドラジットは戦車から跳び降り、叔父に向けて戦車槍を投げ放った。
Highly energetic Indrajith, leaping down from the chariot, horses destroyed, now hurled a javelin at his uncle in the chariot.
The verse shows perseverance under loss, but also the tragedy of kinship turned hostile. Dharma in the Rāmāyaṇa repeatedly questions violence against one’s own family when driven by loyalty to adharma.
Indrajit’s chariot is disabled; he adapts quickly by dismounting and using a heavy missile weapon against Vibhīṣaṇa.
Resourcefulness and battlefield presence of mind—rapidly changing tactics after a setback.
