Indrajit and Lakshmana: War-Boasts, Rebuke, and the Clash
उक्तश्चदुर्गमःपारःकार्याणांराक्षसत्वया ।।।।कार्याणांकर्मणांपारंयोगच्छति स बुद्धिमान् ।
uktaś ca durgamaḥ pāraḥ kāryāṇāṃ rākṣasa tvayā | kāryāṇāṃ karmaṇāṃ pāraṃ yo gacchati sa buddhimān || 6.88.13 ||
羅刹よ、汝は己が企ての「彼岸」は到り難いと言った。だが真に賢き者とは、ただ言い立てるのではなく、行いによって事業を成し遂げ、その終わりに至る者である。
"Rakshasa! You have proclaimed that you will send me to Yama's abode and about the success in your undertakings even though it is not possible. He who is intelligent will succeed in his tasks (not in words alone).
Satya and dharma are tied to deeds: truth is validated by action; empty claims are ethically hollow.
Lakṣmaṇa rebukes Indrajit’s threats, asserting that success is proven by conduct, not boasts.
Practical wisdom and integrity—measuring worth by action (karma) rather than speech.
