War-Council Boasts and Stratagems
ततोवज्रहनुर्नामराक्षसःपर्वतोपमः ।।6.8.21।।क्रुद्ध: परिलिहन्सृक्कांजिह्वयावाक्यमब्रवीत् ।
tato vajrahanur nāma rākṣasaḥ parvatopamaḥ ||6.8.21||
kruddhaḥ parilihan sṛkkāṃ jihvayā vākyam abravīt |
ついで、ヴァジュラハヌと名づく羅刹は山のごとき姿で、怒りに燃え、舌で唇を舐めながら、次の言葉を放った。
Then a Rakshasa called Vajrahanu, mountain like in form, enraged, licking lips with his tongue said these words.
The verse signals the rise of krodha and predatory intent; dharma teaches mastery of senses and restraint, especially before violence.
The narrator introduces another rākṣasa champion, Vajrahanu, about to speak in the council.
Physical power is emphasized, but the dominant trait is uncontrolled anger—presented as a moral weakness.
