Rāvaṇa’s Assault on Nīla and Lakṣmaṇa; Hanumān Bears Rāma
विसर्जयित्वासचिवांस्ततस्तान्गतेषुरक्षस्सुयथानियोगम् ।व्यचारयद्वानरसागरौघंमहाझषःपूर्णमिवार्णवौघम् ।।6.59.35।।
visarjayitvā sacivāṃs tatas tān gateṣu rakṣaḥsu yathāniyogam | vyacārayad vānarasāgaraughaṃ mahājhaṣaḥ pūrṇam ivārṇavaugham ||6.59.35||
かくして彼は家臣らを退け、羅刹たちが命に従い持ち場へ散ったのち、ラーヴァナは広大なるヴァーナラの「海」を進みゆく――さながら大魚がうねる大海を切り裂くがごとく。
After the counsellors departed from there Ravana pierced through the ocean of Vanaras just as gigantic fish would pierce in the sea.
The verse indirectly highlights that power and prowess can be morally neutral; dharma depends on the purpose for which strength is used.
With defenses assigned, Rāvaṇa enters and presses into the Vānara host, described through a vivid ocean metaphor.
