Rāvaṇa’s Assault on Nīla and Lakṣmaṇa; Hanumān Bears Rāma
सबाणवर्षंतुववर्षतीव्रंरामानुजःकार्मुकसम्प्रयुक्तम् ।क्षुरार्धचन्द्रोत्तमकर्णिभल्लैःशरांश्चचिच्छेदनचुक्षुभेच ।।6.59.101।।
sa bāṇavarṣaṃ tu vavarṣa tīvraṃ rāmānujaḥ kārmukasamprayuktam | kṣurārdhacandrottamakarṇibhallaiḥ śarāṃś ca ciccheda na cukṣubhe ca ||6.59.101||
しかしラーマの弟は弓を満ち引きし、激しい矢の雨を降らせた。さらにクシュラ、アルダチャンドラ、ウッタマ、カルニ、バッラの矢で敵の矢を断ち切り、少しも動揺しなかった。
The brother of Rama stretched his bow into a circle and showered rain of piercing arrows. He tore the arrows of his enemy with his arrows Kshura, Ardhachandra, karni and Balan without nay, perturbance.
Dharma in conflict includes composure (akṣobha): strength is righteous when governed by restraint and clarity rather than rage.
Lakṣmaṇa counters Rāvaṇa’s attack by unleashing a dense volley and intercepting/cutting the incoming arrows mid-flight.
Lakṣmaṇa’s steadiness under pressure—calm mastery and disciplined courage.
