The Slaying of Dhumrākṣa
तेगदाभिश्चभीमाभिःपट्टसै: कूटमुद्गरैः ।घोरैश्चपरिघैश्चित्रैस्त्रिशूलैश्चापिसंश्रितैः ।।6.52.5।।विदार्यमाणारक्षोभिर्वानरास्तेमहाबलाः ।अमर्षाज्जनितोद्धर्षाश्चक्रुःकर्माण्यभीतवत् ।।6.52.6।।
te gadābhiś ca bhīmābhiḥ paṭṭasaiḥ kūṭa-mudgaraiḥ |
ghoraiś ca parighaiś citrais triśūlaiś cāpi saṃśritaiḥ ||6.52.5||
vidāryamāṇā rakṣobhir vānarās te mahābalāḥ |
amarṣāj janitoddharṣāś cakruḥ karmāṇy abhītavat ||6.52.6||
その大力のヴァーナラたちは、羅刹に傷つけられながらも、恐るべき武器――棍棒、斧、粉砕の槌、凄まじい鉄の棒、さまざまな三叉戟――を手に取り、憤りから湧いた闘志に燃えて、恐れなく戦の業を成し遂げた。
By the falling of the peak of the mountain on Dhumraksha, all his limbs broken to pieces and crushed fell on the ground like a mountain.
Dharma is expressed as steadfast duty under suffering: even when injured, the vānaras do not abandon their righteous cause, but act with disciplined courage.
After being attacked, the vānaras respond by arming themselves with heavy weapons and pressing the fight with renewed zeal.
Abhaya (fearlessness) and utsāha (spirited resolve), arising from amarṣa—refusal to yield to wrongdoing.
