सुपर्णागमनम्
Garuda’s Arrival and the Release from the Serpent-Arrow Bond
तमागतमभिप्रेक्ष्यनागास्तेसम्प्रदुद्रुवुः ।यैस्तौसत्पुरुषौबद्धौशरभूतैर्महाबलौ ।।6.50.37।।
tam āgatam abhiprekṣya nāgās te sampradudruvuḥ |
yais tau satpuruṣau baddhau śarabhūtair mahābalau ||6.50.37||
彼の来臨を見て、あの蛇どもは逃げ散った――かつて矢となって、二人の高貴にして大力の者を縛った、その蛇どもである。
Thereafter Garuda paying his respects to the noble Rama and Lakshmana, touching their feet, wiped their face which shone like the moon.
Unrighteous bindings cannot endure before truth and rightful power; adharma retreats when confronted by a higher moral force.
Garuḍa’s arrival causes the nāga-bonds (serpents-as-arrows) to lose their hold and flee.
The steadfast nobility of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa (satpuruṣa-lakṣaṇa): even when restrained, their righteousness remains intact and is vindicated.
