都が封鎖され占拠されたと聞くや、夜行の王(ラーヴァナ)は怒りに燃えた。防備の状況を知ると、備えを倍にせよと命じ、ついで宮殿の高殿へと登った。
Jumping here and there like huge elephants, the Vanaras roaring like lions went into Lanka.
It highlights rāja-dharma in wartime: a ruler responds to threats by strengthening protection of the city; however, the verse also shows how anger can drive decisions, contrasting prudent governance with emotion-led reaction.
The Vānara forces have reached and pressured Laṅkā; Rāvaṇa hears the city is effectively besieged/occupied and reacts by escalating defensive measures and going up to the palace to oversee matters.
Strategic vigilance (though mixed with wrath): decisive command and rapid mobilization of defenses in response to a crisis.
