कोहिनामसपत्नोमांसमरेजेतुमर्हति ।इत्युक्त्वापरुषंवाक्यंरावणोराक्षसाधिपः ।।।।आरुरोहततश्रशीमान् प्रासादंहिमपाण्डुरम् ।बहुतालसमुत्सेधंरावणोऽथदिदृक्ष्या ।।।।
ko hi nāma sapatno māṃ samare jetum arhati |
ity uktvā paruṣaṃ vākyaṃ rāvaṇo rākṣasādhipaḥ ||6.26.04||
āruroha tataḥ śrīmān prāsādaṃ himapāṇḍuram |
bahutālasamutsedhaṃ rāvaṇo 'tha didṛkṣayā |
「いったい誰が我に敵して、戦で我を打ち破れるというのだ？」——そう荒々しい言葉を吐くと、羅刹の王ラーヴァナは、雪のように白く輝く壮麗な宮殿へと登った。多くの椰子の木にも比すべき高さのその楼に上り、迫り来る軍勢を見渡そうとした。
