सागरप्रशमनम् / The Pacification of the Ocean and the Building of Nala’s Bridge
रामस्यवचनंश्रुत्वातंचदृष्टवामहाशरम् ।महोदधिर्महातेजाराघवंवाक्यमब्रवीत् ।।।।
rāmasya vacanaṃ śrutvā taṃ ca dṛṣṭvā mahāśaram | mahodadhir mahātejā rāghavaṃ vākyam abravīt ||
ラーマの言葉を聞き、その大いなる矢を見て、光輝ある大海はラグハヴァ(ラーマ)に語りかけた。
On hearing the question of Rama, the mighty ocean seeing the brilliant arrow spoke these words to him.
Dharma is supported by timely accountability: when confronted with rightful authority, the Ocean responds and enters dialogue rather than remaining indifferent.
This is the transition where the Ocean, intimidated by the prepared arrow, begins to address Rāma directly.
Responsiveness and humility before righteous power: the Ocean recognizes Rāma’s seriousness and chooses dialogue.
