na ca sumahān tatra bāla-vṛddha-samākulaḥ |

dadarśa maithilīṃ dīptāṃ praviśantīṃ hutāśanam ||

Translation

そこでは、若者も老人も入り交じる大群衆が見守り、マイティリーが燃えさかる火へと入ってゆくのを目の当たりにした。
