戦の塵の中に夫が横たわるのを見て、彼女たちはたちまちその肢体に取りすがって倒れた。まるで庭の蔓草が断たれて崩れ落ちるように。
In the battlefield they saw their husband lying, and precipitately fell on his limbs like broken creepers in a garden.
The verse reveals the tragic aftermath of adharma: when a leader falls, dependents collapse too—ethically warning against reckless, unrighteous rule.
The women reach the fallen Rāvaṇa and throw themselves upon his body in shock and grief.
Fidelity and attachment (as a human emotion) are foregrounded; the epic uses it to deepen ethical reflection on the cost of wrongdoing.
