सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः
हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
तं तु मन्दोदरीपुत्त्रं कुमारं रणपण्डितम्।।।।सहसा खं समुत्क्रान्तं पादयोश्च गृहीतवान्।चर्मासिनं शतगुणं भ्रामयित्वा व्यपेषयम्।।।।
taṃ tu mandodarīputraṃ kumāraṃ raṇapaṇḍitam |
sahasā khaṃ samutkrāntaṃ pādayoś ca gṛhītavān |
carmāsinaṃ śataguṇaṃ bhrāmayitvā vyapēṣayam ||
だがその若者—マンドーダリーの子にして戦に通じた者—が不意に空へ跳び上がったとき、我はその両足をつかみ、百たび振り回して地に叩きつけ、打ち砕いた。
"When Mandodari's son, an expert in war had risen up to the sky I caught his feet and whirled him round a hundred times and smashed him.
The narrative underscores the inevitable downfall that accompanies participation in adharma; prowess without righteousness cannot secure protection.
Akṣa (the prince) attacks dynamically from the air; Hanumān counters by physically seizing and killing him.
