अभिज्ञानमणि
प्रदानम् — The Signet Jewel as Proof and the Consolation of Sita
त्रयाणामेव भूतानां सागरस्यास्य लङ्घने।शक्तिस्स्याद्वैनतेयस्य तव वा मारुतस्य वा।।।।
trayāṇām eva bhūtānāṃ sāgarasyāsya laṅghane | śaktis syād vainateyasya tava vā mārutasya vā ||
この海を跳び越える力を持つのは、どうやら三者のみ――ヴァイナテーヤ(ガルダ)、あるいはあなた、あるいはマールタ(風神)でしょう。
"It is only three beings who have the capacity to leap over this ocean. Garuda, or you or the Wind-god.
Dharma recognizes true competence and assigns duty accordingly; Sītā identifies who is genuinely capable of the needed feat, aligning responsibility with ability.
Sītā reasons about the near-impossibility of crossing the ocean and acknowledges only exceptional beings could accomplish it.
Respectful discernment—she honors Hanumān’s extraordinary capacity without empty praise, grounding it in realistic comparison.
