Sita’s Lament and Resolve under Threat

世界の主(ラーマ)が間に合わなければ、間もなくあの卑劣な羅刹の王は、鋭い武器で私の手足を切り刻むでしょう。胎児を子宮から取り出す執刀医のように。
"If the lord of the world does not come here before that (time fixed by Ravana) the vile lord of demons will cut me into pieces with weapons just as a barber would cut to pieces the foetus with a sharp knife (in order to save a pregnant woman).
Endurance in righteousness despite fear: even while anticipating violence, Sītā’s concern is not to compromise dharma; she looks to lawful protection (Rāma) rather than surrender.
Sītā fears Rāvaṇa will mutilate/kill her if Rāma does not reach Laṅkā before the deadline.
Courage under suffering and steadfast reliance on truth and rightful rescue.
