Transliteration

īhāmṛgaiś ca vividhair juṣṭāṃ dṛṣṭimanoharaiḥ |

vīthīḥ saṃprekṣamāṇaś ca maṇikāñcanatoraṇāḥ ||5.18.8||

nānāmṛgagaṇākīrṇāṃ phalaiḥ prapatitair vṛtām |

aśokavanikām eva prāviśat santatadrumām ||5.18.9||

Translation

目に心地よい小径と、宝石と黄金で飾られた楼門のアーチを眺めつつ、彼はアショーカの林へと入った。そこは木々が絶え間なく茂り、さまざまな獣の群れで満ち、枝から落ちた果実が一面に散り敷いていた。
