षोडशः सर्गः (Sarga 16): Hanumān’s Recognition of Sītā and Renewed Lament
इत्येवमर्थं कपिरन्ववेक्ष्य सीतेयमित्येव निविष्टबुद्धि:।संश्रित्य तस्मिन्निषसाद वृक्षे बली हरीणामृषभस्तरस्वी।।5.16.32।।
ity evam arthaṃ kapir anvavekṣya sīteyam ity eva niviṣṭabuddhiḥ |
saṃśritya tasmin niṣasāda vṛkṣe balī harīṇām ṛṣabhas tarasvī ||5.16.32||
このように事の次第を見定め、猿は「これはシーターに違いない」と固く心に定めた。彼はその木に身を寄せ、そこに座した――猿たちの中の強く俊敏な雄牛として。
"Sri Rama matches Vaidehi perfectly in character, age, behaviour, birth and auspicious signs. She is aware that he is the right person for her. Rama deserves Vaidehi and this black-eyed lady deserves him."
Dharma as responsible action: before acting, one should verify truth carefully; right means and right knowledge precede right deeds.
After observing signs and reflecting, Hanuman becomes certain the woman he sees is Sītā and remains concealed on a tree to proceed wisely.
Hanuman’s viveka (discernment) and strategic restraint—he confirms truth before initiating contact.
