Trishanku’s Bodily Ascent and the New Constellations
अनुयास्यन्ति चैतानि ज्योतींषि नृपसत्तमम्।।।।कृतार्थं कीर्तिमन्तं च स्वर्गलोकगतं यथा।
anuyāsyanti caitāni jyotīṃṣi nṛpasattamam || kṛtārthaṃ kīrtimantaṃ ca svargalokagataṃ yathā |
これらの星々は、最勝の王に従うであろう—その願いは成就し、名声は輝き—まるで真に天界の世界へ至ったかのように。
These stars will follow this illustrious one (Trisanku), the best of kings who gained his object, as if he had attained heaven.
The verse highlights the dharmic potency of truth-backed resolve: when a vow or purpose is pursued under the force of tapas and integrity, cosmic order itself appears to accommodate it.
During the Triśaṅku episode, the sacrificial power and Viśvāmitra’s resolve result in a celestial sign: the stars are described as following the king as though he had reached heaven.
Viśvāmitra’s unwavering determination (dṛḍha-saṅkalpa) and ascetic power (tapas) that compels extraordinary outcomes.
