sa gatvā himavatpārśvaṃ kinnaroragasevitam | mahādevaprasādārthaṃ tapas tepe mahātapāḥ || 1.55.12 ||
Mighty ascetic Viswamitra, reached the slopes of the Himavat mountain inhabited by kinnaras and uragas (serpents) and performed austerities in order to propitiate lord Mahadeva.
The verse presents disciplined self-transformation: when worldly power fails, one may pursue inner refinement through tapas, seeking divine guidance rather than vengeance.
Viśvāmitra relocates to the Himalayas and undertakes severe austerities to please Śiva.
Perseverance (tapas) and goal-directed spiritual effort.
