दितेर्गर्भभङ्गो मरुत्प्रतिष्ठा च

ममापराधाद्गर्भोऽयं सप्तधा विफलीकृत:।नापराधोऽस्ति देवेश तवात्र बलसूदन।।।।
mamāparādhād garbho 'yaṃ saptadhā viphalīkṛtaḥ | nāparādho 'sti deveśa tavātra balasūdana ||
「わたし自身の過ちにより、この胎児は七つに裂かれ、むなしくなってしまいました。このことにおいて、神々の主よ、バラを討つ御方よ、あなたには何の咎もありません。」
"O Indra, Slayer of Balasura, because of my fault this embryo has been made intoseven pieces and rendered useless. In this matter you have not committed any fault.
Satya and moral accountability: the speaker accepts personal responsibility for the misfortune and explicitly absolves the other party from blame.
Within the Indra–Diti episode (traditionally connected with the birth of the Maruts), Diti speaks after the embryo is divided, attributing the outcome to her own lapse.
