बालकाण्ड सर्ग ३६
गङ्गा-प्रभवप्रश्नः, शिवतेजोधारणं, कार्त्तिकेय-जन्म, उमाशापः
धारयिष्याम्यहं तेजस्तेजस्येव सहोमया।त्रिदशा: पृथिवी चैव निर्वाणमधिगच्छतु।।।।
dhārayiṣyāmy ahaṃ tejas tejasy eva sahomayā |
tridaśāḥ pṛthivī caiva nirvāṇam adhigacchatu ||1.36.13||
「ウマーと共に、我がテージャスのうちにこのテージャスを保とう。神々も大地も等しく安寧に至れ。」
Mahadeva, ruler of the all the worlds, having heard the words of devatas, said "Be it so" Further:
Dharma is the containment and right placement of power: restraining what could harm the world, so that beings may live in peace.
Śiva answers the gods, promising to retain his tejas within himself, ensuring peace for the gods and the earth.
Mastery over one’s own potency—Śiva exemplifies self-governance directed toward universal welfare.
