इति विलपति राघवे सुदीने वनमुपगम्य तया विना सुकेश्या।भयविकलमुखस्तु लक्ष्मणोऽपि व्यथितमना भृशमातुरो बभूव।।3.62.21।।
iti vilapati rāghave sudīne vanam upagamya tayā vinā sukeśyā | bhaya-vikala-mukhas tu lakṣmaṇo 'pi vyathita-manā bhṛśam āturo babhūva || 3.62.21 ||
かくして不幸の時にラ―ガヴァが嘆き悲しみ、麗しき髪の妃を伴わず森へ入ると、ラクシュマナもまた—恐れに顔を震わせ—深く苦しみ、激しく動揺した。
O Lakshmana, these herds of deer with their eyes filled with tears are as if telling me that she is eaten away by the demons.
Dharma as solidarity: Lakṣmaṇa shares Rāma’s burden; righteous companionship means standing with the afflicted, not abandoning them in crisis.
The sarga closes with Rāma grieving in the forest without Sītā, and Lakṣmaṇa likewise overwhelmed by fear and sorrow.
Fraternal loyalty—Lakṣmaṇa’s empathy and readiness to endure distress alongside Rāma.
