The Search for Sita Begins
बहुलं स तु निश्श्वस्य रामो राजीवलोचनः।हा प्रियेति विचुक्रोश बहुशो बाष्पगद्गदः।।।।
bahulaṃ sa tu niśśvasya rāmo rājīvalocanaḥ |
hā priye iti vicukrośa bahuśo bāṣpagadgadaḥ ||
蓮華の眼をもつラーマは、しきりに嘆息し、涙に声を詰まらせながら幾度も叫んだ。「ああ、わが愛しき人よ!」
Rama, his throat choked, shed propuse tears, sighing, O my darling!.
The verse underscores satya as emotional truth: Rama’s open lament shows that righteous life includes honest grief and faithful love, not denial.
Rama repeatedly calls out to Sītā, overcome with sorrow, his breathing heavy and his speech broken by tears.
