The valiant Rama said to Lakshmana, the enhancer of prosperity, O Lakshmana, sage Agastya is coming out. By virtue of his noble appearance, I know this sage to be a great treasure-trove of penances.
Dharma includes honoring spiritual attainment: Rāma recognizes tapas (austerity) as a moral and spiritual capital and approaches the sage with truthful appreciation rather than pride.
Seeing Agastya emerge, Rāma identifies him to Lakṣmaṇa and explains how he recognizes the sage’s greatness.
Rāma’s humility and discernment (recognizing true greatness through noble conduct).
