Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: forest
Sandhi Resolution Notes: कुर्याद्यावत् = कुर्यात् + यावत्; यावदुद्बोधिनी = यावत् + उद्बोधिनी.
It should begin on the full-moon day (Paurṇamāsī) of the month Āśvina, undertaken with mental focus.
Udbodhinī is the “awakening” day, commonly associated with the time when Lord Viṣṇu is ritually understood to awaken after the Cāturmāsya period; the vow is to be observed until that day arrives.
It emphasizes disciplined observance (vrata) carried out with steadiness of mind (samāhita), presenting devotion and self-regulation as the proper way to practice the rite.
