FAQs

Both epithets refer to Indra: Śakra (“the mighty”) and Sureśa (“lord of the gods/devas”).

The speaker reassures Indra, promising to help subdue an opponent by destroying her strength, pride, brilliance, and courage—questioning why Indra should fear.

The verse treats pride as a root of downfall: true victory is framed as overcoming not only external power but also the inner arrogance that sustains it.
