Suta (narrator) addressing a Brahmin interlocutor (dvijottama), within the Uttara-Bhaga tirtha-mahatmya narration
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
The verse highlights the sanctifying power of installing Viṣṇu-forms (Kṛṣṇa and Rāma) and an auspicious deity (Bhadrā), while also noting that such sacred acts can provoke profound doubt and wonder—signaling a turning point where deeper understanding of ritual meaning and divine presence is sought.
By emphasizing the establishment of Kṛṣṇa and Rāma for auspiciousness, the verse points to bhakti expressed through worship and consecration; the accompanying “doubt and wonder” suggests devotion maturing into inquiry, where faith seeks clarity about the Lord’s manifestation in a consecrated form.
Indirectly, it touches temple consecration practice (pratiṣṭhā) which traditionally relies on Kalpa (ritual procedure) and correct mantra usage (connected with Śikṣā and Vyākaraṇa for precise recitation), even though the verse itself does not detail the technical steps.
