Yama-vilāpana
The Lamentation Concerning Yama
अप्रमाणमहं मन्ये लोकं विष्णोर्जगत्पते । यो न पूर्यति लोकौघैः सर्वसत्वसरोरुहैः ॥ २ ॥
apramāṇamahaṃ manye lokaṃ viṣṇorjagatpate | yo na pūryati lokaughaiḥ sarvasatvasaroruhaiḥ || 2 ||
私は、宇宙の主ヴィシュヌの世界は一切の量を超えると思う。無数の世界の群れが押し寄せ、その中にあらゆる衆生が蓮華のように生じても、なお決して満ち尽くされないからである。
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It declares Viṣṇu’s realm as infinite and inexhaustible, implying that liberation culminates in an unbounded divine reality that cannot be “occupied” or limited by finite creation.
By praising Viṣṇu as Jagatpati and affirming His immeasurable loka, the verse encourages bhakti grounded in awe (aiśvarya-bhāva): the devotee turns from limited worlds toward the limitless Lord.
No specific Vedāṅga technique is taught here; the verse primarily conveys Purāṇic cosmological theology—using metaphor (beings as “lotuses”) to express the immeasurability of Viṣṇu’s supreme abode.
