The Lamentation Concerning Yama
पुराणेऽपि जगन्नाथ न श्रुतं पटमार्जनम् । सोऽहं न जांना मि कदाचिदाश दृष्ट्वा क्षिरीशं हरिसेवने स्थितम् । प्रवादमानं पटहं सुघोरं प्रलोपमानं ममविश्ममार्गम् ॥ १६ ॥
purāṇe'pi jagannātha na śrutaṃ paṭamārjanam | so'haṃ na jāṃnā mi kadācidāśa dṛṣṭvā kṣirīśaṃ harisevane sthitam | pravādamānaṃ paṭahaṃ sughoraṃ pralopamānaṃ mamaviśmamārgam || 16 ||
おおジャガンナータよ、プラーナにおいてさえ、この「布の浄め」を私は聞いたことがない。思い描いたこともなかった——ただ、ハリへの奉仕に立つクシリーシャが、恐ろしいほど轟く太鼓を打ち、まるで私の険しい道を払い清めるかのようであるのを見た時までは。
