ददाति वारुणं लोकं क्रीडते चाप्सरोन्वितः । मासि भाद्रपदे युक्तमर्चयित्वा तु शंकरम् ॥ २१ ॥
dadāti vāruṇaṃ lokaṃ krīḍate cāpsaronvitaḥ | māsi bhādrapade yuktamarcayitvā tu śaṃkaram || 21 ||
バードラパダ月に正しくシャンカラ(Śaṅkara)を礼拝する者は、ヴァルナの世界(Varuṇa-loka)に至り、アプサラーたちに伴われてそこで遊楽する。
Sūta (narrating the Narada–Sanatkumāra dialogue context); verse states the vrata-phala
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It functions as a phala-śruti: it links a time-specific, rule-based worship of Śaṅkara in Bhādrapada with a defined heavenly attainment (Varuṇa-loka), emphasizing that disciplined vrata-observance yields karmic and post-mortem results.
Bhakti here is expressed as arcana (devotional worship) performed yuktam—properly and with prescribed discipline—showing that devotion in the Purāṇic mode is both heartfelt and ritually ordered.
Kalpa (ritual procedure) and Jyotiṣa (sacred timekeeping) are implied: the fruit depends on correct observance and the specific lunar month Bhādrapada, reflecting Purāṇic application of vedāṅga-based timing and rite.
