The Account of Mohinī
Mohinī-upākhyāna
vāsayāmāsa bhaktyā ca stutiṃ cakre'bjajanmanaḥ | tataḥ prasanno bhagavān lokakarttā jagadguruḥ || 34 ||
Narada (narration within the Uttara-Bhaga Tirtha-Mahatmya context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that sincere devotion expressed through reverent service (hospitality) and stuti (praise) draws divine prasāda—when the deity is pleased, auspicious outcomes follow.
Bhakti is shown as practical and relational: serving with humility and praising the deity with heartfelt words, which culminates in the Lord becoming prasanna (gracious).
While no specific Vedāṅga is taught directly, the verse reflects the disciplined use of stuti (well-formed praise, aligned with chandas/poetic order) and dharmic atithi-sevā as a ritual-ethical practice.
