Tithi-vicara
Determination of Tithi for Fasts, Parana, and Pitri Rites
dattaṃ japtaṃ hutaṃ snātaṃ tathā pūjā kṛtā hareḥ | tithau viddhe kṣayaṃ yāti tamaḥ sūryodaye yathā || 45 ||
Narada

Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches that spiritual acts gain full merit only when performed with proper sacred timing (tithi-śuddhi); if the tithi is “viddha” (defectively overlapping/impure), the intended fruit is lost.
Even Hari’s worship should be aligned with dharmic order; devotion is not merely emotion but disciplined practice that respects vrata timing and scriptural injunctions.
Kalpa and Jyotiṣa: correct ritual procedure and calendrical computation of tithi (including avoidance of tithi-viddha) to ensure rites like dāna, japa, homa, snāna, and pūjā bear fruit.
