Adhyaya 78 — Hymn to Surya and the Distribution of Solar Splendour; Genealogy of Vaivasvata and Chaya’s Line
इति श्रीमार्कण्डेयपुराणे वैवस्वतमन्वन्तरे साप्तसप्ततितमोऽध्यायः ।
अष्टसप्ततितमोऽध्यायः— ७८
मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
ततस्तं तुष्टुवुर्देवास्तथा देवर्षयो रविम् ।
वाग्भिरोड्यमशेषस्य त्रैलोक्यस्य समागताः ॥
iti śrī-mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇe vaivasvata-manvantare saptasaptatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ / aṣṭasaptatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ—78 / mārkaṇḍeya uvāca / tatas taṃ tuṣṭuvur devās tathā devarṣayo ravim / vāgbhir oḍyam aśeṣasya trailokyasya samāgatāḥ
かくして、ヴァイヴァスヴァタ・マンヴァンタラに属する『聖マールカṇḍेयプラーナ』第七十七章は終わる。第七十八章が始まる。マールカṇḍेयは語った。—そのとき、諸天および天なる聖仙たちは、三界の全域より集い、言葉の供物（讃歌）を携えて、ラヴィ（太陽）を讃嘆した。
