FAQs

The verse sets the scene of sensual fulfillment, preparing for an ethical reflection: pleasure appears heaven-like, yet it becomes a subject for discerning speech about fidelity, mutuality, and the instability of desire.

Primarily falls under Ākhyāna/Upākhyāna (narrative episode) rather than the strict pañcalakṣaṇa topics (sarga, pratisarga, vaṃśa, manvantara, vaṃśānucarita).

The ‘fragrant, radiant mountain’ can be read as the heightened field of sense-experience; the coming dialogue functions as viveka (discrimination) arising within enjoyment itself.
